It wasn’t until I became a mom myself before I started using some of the same good to know for tips when the occasion arose. So, I thought I would share much of what I learned and passed along from my family. Then, once I started recording the many uses of remedies and did my research, I learned a great deal more. I just didn’t know so many remedies come from all natural earth grown plants. But, if you think of it, cures all start somewhere, don’t they? God truly provides us with everything we need. We just need to know the proper uses. Read on to be amazed and enlightened with wonder. I hope something here helps relieve or help fix your issue.

No You Don’t!
Don’t hand your phone to your child to play with until you go to settings and put in airplane mode. Nothing can be purchased or downloaded while in airplane mode.
I wish I would have know about this feature when my son was a child. I certainly paid for more games than I would like to admit.
Reverse Image Search
If you right click an image while you are in Google Chrome and hit “SS”, it will do a Google reverse search for that image automatically.
Telemarketer Annoyed?
If you get another telemarketer call, don’t say anything and press the “9” on your phone. It will add your number to the “Do Not Call” list.
I’m NOT Yelling!
Sometimes when I’m not paying attention, I type with the CAP lock on. When in a Word document, use the shift+F3 to change from all CAPS to lower case and vice versa.

Which Pepper to Choose in Your Recipe?
When you are in need of bell peppers for creating a meal, remember this when picking them out. Turn the pepper and look at the bottom to see how many nodes or bumps it has. Female peppers have 4 nodes and loaded with seeds, although sweeter and better for fresh salads or snacking. The males have only 3 nodes and are better for cooking.
More Juice
You will get double the amount of juice from lemons or any other fruit if you microwave for 15 seconds.

Medicinal Relief

Do you have a migraine or headache?
Try soaking your hands and feet in hot or warm water, then rest a frozen bag of peas on the base of the back of your head where your neck starts. The warmth on your hands and feet pull the blood from your head, relieving the tension.
Mosquito Bites?
If you run hot tap water over a spoon to heat it up, press the warm spoon on the affected area and the heat will dissipate the protein that caused the reaction and it will stop the itching.

Household Recipes

If you fill a mason jar with orange peals and pour vinegar to cover the peals, then soak for 2 weeks, it makes a great household cleaner. Add to a spray bottle and it’s great for bug spray.
Fruit fly swarm? Fill a bowl with vinegar and a splash of liquid soap. The vinegar will attract the flies and the soap will kill them. I must tell you we had a really bad fruit fly congregation in our house once, and I remembered what my father taught me. So I applied this recipe and it did work, however eating dinner one night, they seem to want my glass of wine more than that bowl of vinegar. Well, I hate to waste a good glass of wine, but I wanted them gone! Needless to say, that was their last supper.

Quick Fixes

Dirty Microwave?
Put a microwave safe dish of hot water with a tablespoon of vinegar inside and turn on for 3-5 minutes, then it can easily be wiped clean. It’s the best way to clean without all the scrubbing. My father taught me this years ago.
Static Cling?
Ladies, have you ever worn a dress or skirt that kept riding up and sticking to where you didn’t want it to? Or put on a sweater that made your hair stand up? Well, instead of buying any chemical spray made for this issue, here is what you do. Fasten a safety pin on that article of clothing. Yep, that’s it!

Going Camping?
Before you go, take a bag of cotton balls and coat them with petroleum jelly and place in a zip lock bag. When you build a fire, place a few under the firewood and light them as you would kindling. This is a full proof way to start a camp fire.
You can also keep the bugs away by adding SAGE to the campfire.
Another great bug repellent is dryer sheets. You can put one in your pocket, shoes or even like I did by tucking in your shirt at the back of your neck. Those buggers seem to like that area.
Hard Time Staying Awake?
You would think to have a cup of coffee, right? Nope, apples are stronger than caffeine to help you stay awake.
Oh No, I Can’t Use the Remote?
If you run out of stock of “AA” batteries, you can always use the “AAA” that you seem to have an abundance of. Just fill the gap on the positive (+) side with a small rolled up piece of aluminum foil until you get to the store to purchase more.
Kitchen Sponge Cleaning
Just microwave your wet sponge for about 2 minutes and it will kill 99% of the bacteria.
Elevator Ride
Are you tired of stopping 52 times just to get to your room? Push the number of your floor and the close door button consecutively. This will take you right to your floor bypassing all other floor buttons pushed. Pretty cool right? I bet you try that next time you’re in a hotel 🙂
