Flower and Gardens are loved by many, including me. I was raised on a farm in Northern Pennsylvania, where we grew our own crops to harvest in the fall. We always had chores to do and weeding the garden was not a favorite pass time, then. Now, I find weeding garden beds therapeutic for me. I guess it takes me back to a place when life seemed so simple and carefree.
I have always loved digging in the dirt (excuse me, soil, as my horticulture teacher would always correct me). Planting a seed and watching it grow into something beautiful, always amazed me.
As I grew older and moved around the country, I always seemed to find a plot of soil to turn and plant. My flowerbeds were mixed with vegetable plants, herbs and berry bushes.
As a young woman, I decided to open a florist shop, and absolutely loved bringing beauty to others. Weddings were probably my favorite, but Valentines Day was by far the busiest holiday for me. I remember having a line out the door (mostly men) waiting to purchase red roses for their sweethearts.
It’s been quite a few years since I sold my shop, but I carry fond memories of the many smiles that I received back then. So, if you think about it, surprising someone with the gift of flowers, provides an immediate smile. Finally, I have decided to bring my love of flowers back, by providing you with the wonderful gift that nature provides to us.
